The 1s 1s version is superb and IF you can find one jump on it. The string tone is second to none in the whole catalog, IMHO.

I have a 1s 1s copy of this, it is absolutely spectacular. I haven’t heard a lower matrix copy, but IF you can pick up the 1s 1s then you will have a treasure, IMO. The 1s 1s is a demo quality disc for string tone, Szeryng’s violin is in the room with you!

I don’t have any copies of this record! Need to find the 1s1s, apparently. Any idea how many are out there?

No idea how many are out there, I have only seen one in nearly 20 years of collecting, and that’s the one I own.

I saw this LP yesterday (7/28/2012) at Shady Dog Records in Berwyn, PA for $44.00. Out of my price range, so I didn’t check the matrix #. Here’s a link to the store’s website: http://www.shadydog.com/ They are usually reliable in their grading but the website inventory isn’t always up to date.
