Hi, Andrew. This is a personal favorite of mine. I like Sibelius and I never tire of listening to his 2nd. It seems very modern today and must have sounded even more so when it was new over 100 years ago!
Anyway, I think the high end for this one is about $30. That would be an original Shaded Dog early pressing (1S/3S) in near mint condition.
NOTE: This was recorded in England for RCA by Decca. London released it later as part of their Stereo Treasure Series (STS 15098). There were about two dozen London STS records released of RCA LSC material (or in a few cases, material RCA released on Victrola). I feel this series offers incredible sound for the price, and this one, in particular, sounds as good if not better than the Shaded Dog equivalent. These can be had for just a few dollars and are quite easy to find. If you go this route on this one, make sure the record label is orange and silver, and says “Made in England.” U.S. pressings were not as good.
Happy listening!
