The “checkerboard” cover you have pictured for this is the generic cover RCA issued while they were awaiting reprints of the original cover which had sold out (as can be seen on the ebay auction results.). I have the same “checkerboard” cover on a “Peter Gunn” TV Mancini soundtrack from the era.

Interesting! I thought the generic “checkerboard” cover was used for the first pressing because the custom “picture frame” cover wasn’t ready in time for first release. Are you certain the picture frame cover was issued before the checkerboard one and not after?

BTW, regarding the records shown on this page (assuming they are original to their sleeves), the “checkerboard” is the earlier of the two, as it’s label has the small “Living Stereo” at the bottom.

The title of the Mono version of this album was “Overtures in Spades”. I’m still wondering why RCA didn’t use the same cover for the Stereo version.

Has this ever seen the light of day on CD or download? I keep hoping that it might. I have the mono LP version. ( But if I give up hoping, it might show up…)
